A New Milestone

video

Juhd is turning 4 this year and just in case you didn't know, he has Autism and is currently non-verbal. Today we had a breakthrough moment at the playground. As a child with autism, it is extremely difficult for Juhd to understand simple concepts and instructions, including facial expressions or gestures. Unlike neurotypical children, Juhd does not imitate what his parents/people around him do, which is an very important skill to have(like eye contact) in order to develop good communication skills.

Today after trying for a long time, he actually started imitating one of the many things I've been teaching him which is counting using his fingers. The very fact that I got his attention(focus) and that he managed to imitate the hand gestures was a huge accomplishment. I know this sounds so normal for other parents, but to me it was a breakthrough moment. I burst into tears right after recording this. Only God knows how happy I was for him that day. As a mother, to see your child make progress is one the best feelings in the world, truly no words can explain except all praises to Allah. <3

Dailies Total 1 by Alcon

You know, I've been in denial that I've had an eyesight problem since my uni days. That's because I honestly hate the idea of wearing glasses. I don't enjoy having to hang a pair of plastic/steel frames on my ears. Most of the time it just irritates me, you know? More often than not, especially when I go out or attend events, I will definitely opt for contact lenses.

Contact lenses are great because I don't feel like there's anything restricting my view(plus it doesn't spoil the shape of my tudung like glasses do lol). But the only problem I have with lenses is that after a few hours, my eyes get dry and they start to feel really tired or sleepy!

My friend recently introduced me to Dailies Total 1 by Alcon Malaysia, it's the world's first and only water gradient contact lenses. The first time I put them on, it was kind of surreal because it felt like I completely regained perfect vision. Because of it's moist silky-smooth surface, the lenses absolutely reduces irritation of the delicate tissues of the eye, that's why it feels like I'm not even wearing any lenses at all! Amazing right?

The innovative design features a unique water gradient that delivers more water where your eyes need it, and less where they don't. Approaching 100% water at the outermost surface, it also provides a silky-smooth surface for comfort that lasts until the end of the day when you take them off. With only 33% water at the core, more oxygen can pass freely through the lense to the eyes. It was such a huge difference from the normal contact lenses I'm used to wearing.

So of course I had my eyes checked first before deciding what eye sight power to get. Apparently my eye sight power has increased a lot since the last time I checked my eyes. My right eye has a slightly higher power of 400, and left eye was 350.

Then I tried the Dailies Total 1 lenses(oh make sure you wash your hands first whenever putting on lenses). My hands had to be super dry because if it's even slightly wet, I can't grab hold of it. It's THAT silky-smooth & moist.

As usual, just pull the lower lid downward and the upper lid upward, place the contacts onto the centre of your eye, blink, and tadaaa! Perfect vision! I would highly recommend this brand for everyday use, it's a daily disposable lense and is absolutely safe to use anytime of the day even for driving. Each pack comes with five daily disposable lenses.

With the lovely former Miss Universe Malaysia 2010, Nadine Ann Thomas, love her!<3

I wore the lenses the whole day up to more than 12 hours and I can simply say that It is by far the best contact lenses I've ever worn! Totally fuss-free and most importantly it feels just like I'm 'wearing' my natural eye. No irritation, no dry eyes! Major love! I'm even wearing them now as I'm typing this;D

Australia Part 3 : La Perouse Beach, Darling harbour, Featherdale Wildlife park, NSW Art Gallery

Guysssss so sorry that this post has been pending for too long.. so I'll just leave you with the photos okay. But in case you have any questions just drop them in the comments section! I'll update more information on this post once I get the time insyaAllah!

Poppin' Purple

I can't believe I'm almost 30 weeks! Not long before I pop InsyaAllah! God I feel and totally look like a hippo now(no offence to hippos). Still struggling with back pain but I guess I'm managing. I'm also moving houses by the end of this month. Oh the horror!! #prayforAishah

Before everything gets anymore chaotic, I'm gonna just enjoy some me-time, pampering myself at home and relaxing.

Bahahahaha.

Yeah right.

*finally remembers that I'm a mom*

Well enough about me. Let's check out Misclaire Plussize recent releases, again because comfort! This time I'm wearing Bella Cotton Assymetrical Top in 2XL. I think this top would be perfect for work if paired with a pair of palazzos. Or if you want to go more casual, you can always opt for jeans or a pencil jersey skirt, which would be my personal pick:)

Ocean Blue

I'm currently at 28 weeks now but it honestly feels like I've been pregnant forever lol. It could be because of this unbearable back pain I've been dealing with since early second trimester. I can't really be as active as I'd like to be because the slightest wrong move can put me in severe pain. So I've been advised to take it easy and prescribed plenty of bedrestT_T.

I still go out of course, once in a while. These days I'm all about sneakers and comfort. When you're pregnant, clothing that restricts your movement is the worst thing you could possibly want. I've been shopping for looser tops and pants(you don't necessarily need to buy maternity wear) because looser clothing is the besssssssssssssssst! Kinda feels just like you're at home in your PJ's :D

So if you're heavily pregnant or a plus size girl, you can check out what they have at Misclaire plussize clothing. I recently got this Felice blouse in ocean blue and comfy dusty blue palazzos. I'm wearing size 2XL for the top and 3XL for the palazzos. I can't tell you enough how comfy they are. Loose and lightweight. My kinda maternity stle!

Camouflage
